ACT Consulting Engineers was formed through the amalgamation of 3 specialized consulting firm;  to bring to the market a dedicated ‘one-stop-shop’ for your engineering requirements.

The company now offers services in a broad range of developments and projects from small extensions and renovations, to single and multi dwelling buildings and land development designs through to commercial and industrial developments and major precinct proposals.

Antoun El Hahjje

Principal Structural Engineer

Antoun El Hajjeh is a Structural Engineer who offers over a decade of structural design experience to each and every structural challenge.

Antoun gained his Master degree in Engineering Management from the University of Wollongong and is a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia IEAust . Antoun was originally associated with a leading ACT engineering firm handling quality multi million dollar residential and commercial projects; where he was the senior design engineer and played a key role in the design and co-ordination on many projects.

As the company’s Structural Engineering Director, Antoun and his team present clients with innovative and creative design solutions with affordable fees and fast turnaround.  Antoun’s approach is aimed at supporting great architectural or client design ideas with structurally sound output and with an emphasis on function and suitability.

With a vast experience in renovation projects and residential structures such as retaining walls and pergolas and expertise in all popular construction systems, Antoun can assist with all of your structural engineering needs.

Luka Kovacevic

Principal Civil Engineer

Luka commenced his engineering career within the public sector as a Trainee Engineer. Luka held various roles within the Local Government engineering department working his way through to the position of Manager of Engineering Services; where he was responsible for leading and managing the entire engineering department in the fields of Survey and Design, Asset Management, Development Engineering, Road Safety, Traffic Engineering and Capital Works.

In 2014, after 10 years of public sector engineering, Luka moved into the private sector by opening his own civil engineering consulting firm, providing consulting servicing in all aspects of civil engineering.

Luka currently holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) and Bachelor of Business, all obtained through Central Queensland University as well as Advanced Diploma and Diploma level qualifications in engineering, design and drafting.

Luka is currently a Chartered (CPEng) and Professional Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust), Registered on the National Engineers Register (NER), Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland with the Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland (RPEQ), and a Registered Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers Australia (RPEng). He is also an active member of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA).

In addition to these formal qualifications, Luka is a licensed (B Class) Builder for residential and commercial building work.

Ivan Kovacevic

Principal Hydraulic Engineer

Ivan commenced his hydraulic engineering career whilst completing his engineering studies – immediately upon finishing his Year 12 certificate.

Ivan was employed by a large Canberra based consultancy for 6 years where he developed his skills and knowledge by working on some of the region’s largest and most complex projects from initial concept design through to completing full design packages, workshop drawings, site inspections and reports.

In 2011, after 6 years of employment, Ivan opened his own hydraulic engineering consultancy, specialising in all forms of hydraulic engineering design. His project experience includes working in sectors such as retail, health, education, commercial, residential, hotels, entertainment and public buildings.

Ivan’s understanding of all building services and his practical background provides him with the ability to coordinate the various services, into a practical buildable solution.
Ivan currently holds Advanced Diploma and Diploma level qualifications in engineering, design and drafting as well as completing many other professional development courses throughout his career.
